We have reached the end of Advice for the next-generation planner series where Russell, Aki, Faris, Heather, Holger, Merry, Pete, Patricia, Victoria, Paul, Nina and Matt has given us their different perspectives on what it means to be a planner. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Feel free to share your comments, reflections, ideas, points of view, etc.
Good stuff! Thanks for posting it!

It is remarkable, Leon. Brilliant really. Thank you to all 13 of you, sincerely. I promise you the planning students at Academy of Art University in San Francisco are discussing your insights and advice. So, consider you words impactful in this corner of the world. Thank you.
It was great to see some common themes come up from people in different parts of the world.
1) Read more stuff from more places. (Not just marketing and Gladwell)
2) Go out, converse and ask questions. (Less trolling the interwebs.)
3) Do stuff and get people to do stuff, real stuff ... like fixing problems. This is what inspiration is isn't it? (Everything is becoming less passive and we should be leading that charge.)
4) In a world with this much information, we must get better at insight, empathy and instinct. Big Brains, Big Hearts and Big Guts (my beer belly aside.)
I would love to see this be a yearly check-in with great planning minds (a la Heather's planning survey). We have the benchmark; let's keep it going.

This was fun to be a part of, Leon. Thank you for inviting me.
Even better though was reading what everyone else shared. All of us can take away great things from it, no matter how much experience we have.
Like Cameron, I would love to see it come back in the future.
Great idea and excellent job making it happen.
